Acupuncture
Acupuncture and Qi Gong are 2 branches of Chinese medicine that date back thousands of years. The basic principles are that all living creatures have qi (energy) that flows through them.
If the energy flow becomes blocked then dysfunction or illness can eventually occur. Acupuncture ( through insertion of ultra fine needles into the skin) seeks to remove these blockages and allow the body to heal naturally. Qi Gong ( through movement and mental exercises or pressing on acupuncture points) also attempts to remove these blockages. In addition, Qi Gong is a means to cultivate and store qi within your body for enhanced overall health. An analogy I like to use when describing how Traditional Chinese Medicine works is as follows- the cure for a polluted river upstream from a beaver dam is not to throw chemicals into the river but rather to remove the beaver dam.

Chronic symptoms such as fatigue, ‘brain fog’, joint or muscle pain with or without Western medicine treatment can respond positively to acupuncture and qi gong and offer significant relief. It may take 6 or more sessions before you see results but it is a low risk intervention that can provide a blissful experience of symptom management.
